Calling All CoP Members: Join Us in Advancing Climate-Smart Agriculture!

The agricultural landscape in South Asia is undergoing profound shifts due to the impacts of climate change. With extreme weather events becoming more frequent and climatic patterns changing rapidly, the need for sustainable agricultural practices has never been more pressing. In response to these challenges, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), SAC, IFPRI, and SAARC Development Fund (SDF) came together to establish the ‘Consortium for Scaling-up Climate Smart Agriculture in South Asia (C-SUCSeS)’ in 2021.

At the heart of the C-SUCSeS initiative lies a commitment to promoting sustainable and resilient agricultural intensification through evidence-based strategies and capacity-building initiatives. As part of this endeavor, the consortium has developed a series of training modules focused on Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) technologies.

We are excited to announce that the C-SUCSeS Project has recently developed 10 training modules on key CSA technologies for SAARC member states.

To ensure the efficacy and relevance of these modules, a three-day training and validation workshop was held from 22nd to 24th April 2024 in Bangladesh. Representatives from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka participated in this event, which aimed to fine-tune and validate the training materials, enhance the capacity of stakeholders responsible for scaling up CSA technologies, and foster regional cooperation through knowledge exchange.

As valued members of our Community of Practice (CoP), your insights and feedback are essential in ensuring these modules meet the needs and expectations of our diverse membership. Your feedback will play a crucial role in refining the content, improving accessibility, and enhancing the overall user experience.

We invite you to participate in this feedback process by reviewing the video modules and sharing your thoughts, suggestions, and any areas of improvement you identify. Your feedback will not only help us enhance the quality of these modules but also contribute to the collective knowledge and growth of our community. We have uploaded four video modules to our ‘Open Discussion Forum’ of the CoP Network located at the top right of the second row on its homepage

We urge you to watch these videos by following the link provided in the ‘Open Discussion Forum’ and share your insights and suggestions with us. Whether it is regarding the content, presentation, or applicability of the modules, your feedback will help us refine our materials to better serve the needs of stakeholders across the region. Please log in using your username and password. Alternatively, you can also send your feedback via email to: copcsucses@gmail.com  Your input is requested by 17th May 2024.

Together, let’s empower communities, build resilience, and create a sustainable future for agriculture in our region.
